How to keep ice cream soft in the freezer ?
If you want that your delicious ice cream should last for a longer period you should follow the instructions to increase its shelf life.
- Deep Freeze– You must deep freeze your ice cream as soon as possible after buying it from the store or if you have homemade ice cream then that too should be deep freeze to prevent it from melting. Ice cream should be kept below 0 degrees F or below -18 degrees Celcius.
- Keep in Airtight Container– You should store ice cream in an airtight container to prevent the growth of bigger crystals. When Ice cream comes in contact with air it melts. If you will again refreeze this melted ice cream the crystals will become bigger and crunchier, therefore spoiling the smooth and creamy texture of the ice cream.
- Store it in the freezer immediately after each use– If you do want to spoil the texture then store your ice cream back in the freezer as soon as possible immediately after every use and try to avoid long contact with air. It should be kept away from moisture and other contaminants.
